Parenting Consultant

PDF Print
A Parenting Consultant, or more commonly referred to as a "PC", is an individual, hired by the parents, to assist them in making decisions regarding their children. A Parenting Consultant's role is defined by a contract, which is signed by both parents. Essentially, a Parenting Consultant has three functions: negotiation, coaching and decision-making regarding parenting issues. In my role as a Parenting Consultant, I believe it is my responsibility to give the parents the opportunity, and help they need, to make decisions on their own regarding their children. However, as a Parenting Consultant, it is also my responsibility to make a decision when parents are unable to agree. Some of the issues that can be presented to a Parenting Consultant include the following:
  • Parenting time modifications
  • Compensatory parenting time
  • Participation in extra-curricular activities
  • School attendance
  • Trading of parenting time
  • Interpreting any ambiguities regarding parenting time

If you would like to hire me as a Parenting Consultant, please contact me at (763) 746-4045.
